Lark a Bird

I turned in the door then turned around
everyone we loved going ground
I explained zither, to Burmese
converted breath color psyche

didn’t take the first bait
sweetest lemon hunger sate
to lean, to preen, two for darling
waiting silver trident exploration

something about the trees underneath
tripping on an occular blockage
the faces tumble, start trippin’
holding on to a board, not floored, expansion

some couples, some walking in twos
some with a rhythm of blues in their shoes
some with lemon curl curd hair
all of them titter twirl and stare

running out of lines
taking a long look

Misfits Cherry Flavored

I said no, i meant yes
don’t tell them the secrets yet
she stares, then jokes, then gets a rise
different countries, color coded eyes
she said, color coded eyes

dont even think about touching my shit
fuck i can’t stand, head rush stars
i can’t even rhyme, meters unjelled
craving brandy, misfits
cherry flavored, antacids
yeah cherry flavored antacids

its cold and no one is here except
        silent mouse / holy louse
all is calm, so fuckin carry on
all is bright, nurturing fluorescent lights

the girl would please, bored boy twirls cart
i forgot what everybody was singing about
drags the cart around the room
boy to father, agenda in fa tah dah
yeah agenda in fa tah dah

oh she will get you back, kid
she knows the crusty stuck fabric hid
you can try and saunter but don’t even pretend
this is blood
that is iron
the wheels run over rubble
yeah the wheels run over rubble

        rome rome rome
        viva vidi vici
        rome rome rome
        my blood leans to home

Sun She

sorry for the limited - vocabulary
pretty good for - old wood blazin’
highlight the pretend - deep knee bends
round to ask the question - quick protection

is called forth then round to you
round to you
round to you

taking the strum - in the air
no one cares - don’t look up
the sun she comes - into your life
into your heart

into the sky
into the sky
into the sky

the sun, she comes
healing your sky
healing earth green

Lyrical wonderin’

“Do you believe in woods winds narrow casting?”
she asked me, lyrical wonderin’
“would you walk a crooked sky line? “
“or Hold my heart inter twinning ….. ?    tithing…”

such sweetness soft; my honey dappled
so many excuses; grinding money shrapnel
take yo breath, a break, stumble around
reflections polished free in this tidal town

brave men at the helm
wise navigators of the realm
strong stars appear to thee
singing sweet ancient hymns of victory

i never fail; to notice your beauty bright
every morning i wake sacred duty sight
every breath i make a vow
she never fail two bliss union tao

so keep up the work in this garden
of dirt, of reasons, of dreams

of dirt, of reasons, of dreams
roll in the joy
joy of working
in *this* garden

you and me — we’re on a first name basis

the shadow of the vineyard
and those that labored in her true
lines and levels
dirt and tendrils
imbibed. surprised. patience oak cask task

writing in a language - challenge understand
already recorded, index, keyword points of light
scraping + squeezing; leveraged assets
                                   fiction jazz pants

all for some faceplate; marquee brand delusion
but ohhhhh the feelings - leathered descent
                                      driving!    dealing!

as long as you’re up the beat
they goad you, the game so, but
you and me — we’re on a first name basis
designer transit skirt
         hiked steep hills
               falling in heels steep
                   all turn
                      around

so beautiful holding tender heart beat
so beautiful,       echo       echo
so many beauties; proper pedals
took my cup round, while she doled
                                  out ones and….

i bow my head in prayer, scribe asana
and uru ulla true arrive, jete granda

Real As Dusk

Tender like moonlight

fleeting are reflections

Most Nearly Naked

Ok, so i left, in a huff, gruff
and yeah i drank wine, sunshine
and there was a grump, heffalump

then the sun rose again
any skin had to thin, nude suntan
kayak jim waved at a clip — ignored it

read the book honey limbed
oh and i reclined, let sun soak in
right there was a row, nearly naked you know
rushing prajna round circuitous wild flow

and then bike ride flush
and birds spring thrush
all the beauties surrended to thee
thrice singing roundelay jubilee
cleric cherries crisp tongue delicate
served by a maid dedicated to chocolate

Whims and Wonders

there is a man who looks over shoulder
your every move just makes him bolder
there is a woman with schemes devise
wraps him in leather, snake black eyes

all the whims and wonders of this world
fall at the feet of the blessed girl
who wends walks wears a cloak of blood
tried to leap, fell hard, rolled in mud

crazy staring spy game gripper
wants to be cool, hand stuck in zipper
rallies his guns for the next conquest
doesn’t believe in god or divine Dess

drops a bag, utters a whoops
frothing crying grandma toots
rides her boy like a jockey from hell
beats him senseless when he threatens to tell

yeah you’re under some evil strain
they keep pressin’ till you feel only pain
then when under pressure you crack
bargain for illusions contract

Rusty Cages

catch you round the bend
flip time, I had to eat yo-mo
in a fury, all is slo-mo
grey lattice crossing nectar shores

then in a field: everlasting
wine, sweet and tart: relaxing
vigor or a tone: enhancing
the well, dank water: rising

tables and charts and means and ways
all the petty criminals are paid
here we sit: two scribe two nights
outside corner, major domo, blurred sights

Shut up - i’m just getting started
your little no nothin’ has been pardoned
i didn’t hoe, but she grows, a garden
feeling green, fell between, Shoshanna

in the middle of all her thoughts for her pleasure
i spied, amazed, a master of strings
Jerked, Hook victim, is impelled
to recite every trick charlatans sell

i could bore you with the modulations of tone
and which ones settle deep: Muscle. Bone.
i could fear ya bout those that hunt kin
feeble steel, still a lion, can cage in

rust becomes a cage for a lion
who triumphs by means of spiritus rising
that lion is more noble then the circus goon
or the animals who pay to enter that tomb

slave and master turning around
a karmic wheels mud, illusion bound
cry of a baby: a new body soul enters
pray to forget, debts, big game adventures

it is a game, a ruse, an illegal bond
that causes a free man to take up bounds
become chains, of patterns, of mode
fluid forming, frightened tightening
timid becomes titan becomes tyrant
deposed, exposed…

thrown laugh silent

Stares Helen

Duck - he’s wounded
comin’ at ya
tonal kaleidoscope
up periscope
nimble running feet
constancy of affection sweet
takes a lot of liquid this scribe to employ

sip by sip we grow in turn
the ego staked tethered worm
who lacking a more humble perspective
tried every hole in marble reflected

educated worm — museum employed
stares for hours — at Helen of Troy
